Dorothy V. Holbert, 76, of Sandyville, died Saturday, Nov. 20, 1999, at ElderCare of Ripley.


She was born in Wirt County, the daughter of the late William Luther and Evaline Barton Wigal. She was a homemaker.


Surviving are her husband of 60 years, Charles Holbert; six sons, C. Rodney Holbert of Elizabeth, Francis Holbert, E. Leon Holbert. H. Wayne Holbert and James Holbert, all of Sandyville, and Ralph Holbert of Mineral Wells; four daughters, Bonnie Trickett of Sandyville, Ellen Lockhart and Barbara Hunt, both of Parkersburg, and Peggy Sims

of LeRoy; two sisters, Sylvia Atkinson of Big Bend and Jo DeVaughn of Sandyville; 19 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren.


She was preceded in death by six brothers, Charles Wigal, Lawrence Wigal, Harley Wigal, Arley Wigal, Glen Wigal and Elvin Wigal; and one sister, Ruby DeVaughn.


Services were scheduled Tuesday, 2 p.m., at Busch Funeral Home, Elizabeth, with Rev. Jerry Eaton and Rev. Paul Palmer officiating, and burial in Limestone Cemetery, Rockport. Visitation was scheduled from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Tuesday.
