Larnard was the son of Robert Drake and Rebeckah Wade.
Larnard married Susanna Phillips on September 28, 1802 and, within ten years, they moved to Vermont. Susanna died in Vermont in 1821.
Larnard's second wife was Mary Darlin, whom he married in September 1821 in Vermont. They did not have any children.
While in Vermont, Larnard and Susanna had a daughter, Susannah Phillips Drake. She married a Scottish immigrant, Adam Wiley and they had seven children.
The Drake and Wiley families moved to Michigan in about 1844 and settled in Oakland County.
