Sgt. Scott J. Metcalf of Framingham, Mass., joined the Army in July 1990 and was a unit supply specialist. He arrived at Fort Campbell in January 2001. His awards and decorations include: Army Commendation Medal (3 awards); Army Achievement Medal (7 awards); Army Good Conduct Medal (6 awards); National Defense Service Medal; Korean Defense Medal; Iraq Campaign Medal (3 awards); Global War on Terrorism Service Medal; Overseas Ribbon; Combat Action Badge; Driver and Mechanic Badge; and Weapons Qualification, M4, expert. He is survived by his wife, Betty, and daughter, Korrine; and mother, Paulette. He was preceded in death by his father. Scott died at age 36 in Balad, Iraq, of injuries sustained from a non-combat related incident.
