Callahan's Pioneer's Burial Rites Today
BAIRD. Aug. 11 – Funeral will be held at 2 pm Saturday in the Wylie Funeral Chapel for Mrs. Mollie Connel, 72, Callahan County pioneer who died Thursday in Mansfield. The Rev. A. A. Davis, pastor of Baird Baptist Church, will officiate. Burial will follow in the Tecumseh Cemetery.
Born Mollie Stone Jan. 11, 1878 in Coryell County, Tex., she was brought by her parents to Callahan County two years later. She was married here Aug. 15, 1910 to the late S. S. Connel, who died in 1923. She held membership in the Baptist Church here.
Surviving are three sisters, Mrs. E. E. Batwell of Baird, Mrs. Lizzie Batwell or Portales, N. M., and Mrs. China Menton of Coolidge, Ariz.; one brother, John Stone of Coolidge, Ariz.; a number of step children, nephews and nieces.
