Mrs. Edgar Cornwell, nee Stortzum, of Effingham, died Monday night, Oct. 4, 1943, at St. Anthony's Hospital at Effingham at the age of 53 years. She had been in failing health during the past year and had been a patient at the hospital during the past month.
Surviving are the husband, Edgar; two daughters: Ruth and Mabel, of Effingham; four brothers: August and Mart Stortzum of Martinsville; and Jake Stortzum of Wheeler; as well as four sisters: Mrs. Hulda Buhnerkemper of Effingham; Mrs. Clarence Stricker of Newport, Ky.; Mrs. Wm. Krummerick of Terre Haute, Ind.; and Mrs. Theo Schandt of Urbana.
Funeral services are being held this Thursday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock from St. John's Lutheran Church at Effingham burial taking place in the Lutheran cemetery.
