Jennie Mae Austin Auld was the wife of Thomas Jefferson Auld; the mother of Jeff Larry and Brenda Lee. Mrs. Auld was a school teacher much loved and respected by her students. The 1920 Anderson County, Texas Census lists her family as follows: Marshall L. Austin and Effie May Austin, parents; Fay as daughter; Bruce as son; M.L. as son; Jennie May as daughter; Mattie Watkins as Mother-in-law; D.S. Watkins as Brother-in-law; and Allen Young as Servant.
