The body of Leonard Shannon was brought to Ardmore Monday, from Jackson, Tenn., for burial Tuesday in the Gatlin Cemetery. Mr. Shannon died in a Jackson Hospital on Sunday. Funeral services were conducted there Monday morning.
Mr. Shannon was retired from Woodmen of the World as insurance representee and was planning to move next week into a newly constructed home near Cedar Hill on the Old homeplace next door to his brother Walter.
Survivors include the wife, Mrs. Annie Pearl Shannon, of Jackson; two daughters, Mrs. Doris Smith of Louisville, K y ., and Mrs. Annie Laura Price; two sons, James Shannon of Jackson and Grover Shannon of Tyler, Texas; sister Mrs. Paula (Alma) Reyer of Ardmore, brothers Walter of Ardmore, J. H. of Nashville and Hubert of Louisville; step-mother Mrs. Rosie Shannon of Ardmore, and nine grandchildren [Obit from Ruth Hasten Walsh Nov 2, 2018]
