VONCILE BAILEY FRATANGELO
1930-2008

Voncile Bailey Fratangelo, age 78, of Jefferson, TX went to be with her Lord and Savior on October 24, 2008, after fighting a courageous battle with leukemia.
She was born on April 4, 1930 in Pensacola, FL to the late A. Hilliard and Frances Bailey. She attended schools in Pensacola and later worked in various family businesses until she moved to Crestview, FL. Voncile's proudest career accomplishment was being elected the first female judge in Okaloosa County, FL, where she served from 1964-1972 (she loved politics). She was a very, very, loving mother and grandmother, and will truly be missed by all who knew her. She loved God, family, flowers, music and travel. Her greatest passion was her grandchildren and cheering for them in their sports and other activities. "Mama", as we (her children) called her, has left a lasting impression on us and in turn, we are honored and thankful to have known and loved her. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Crestview and also attended First United Methodist Church in Jefferson, TX.
Voncile was preceded in death by her husband, Martin Veto; her parents, A. Hilliard and Frances Bailey and her sister, Edna Mae Bailey Gallaher. Surviving her are her sons, Ned and wife, Susan Fratangelo of Jefferson, TX, Jeffrey and wife, Lynn Fratangelo of Jefferson, TX; daughters, Candace and husband, Steve Shaver of Sugar Land, TX, Jenee and husband, Eric Strange of Houston, TX; stepdaughter, Dawn Fratangelo of New York, NY; stepson, Martin Fratangelo, Jr. of Daytona Beach, FL; grandsons, Bailey, Nick and Will Fratangelo of Jefferson, TX; Jared and Alex Shaver of Sugar Land, TX; granddaughters, Kathryn McGee of Jefferson, TX, Stephanie Fratangelo of Daytona Beach, FL; niece, Patricia Gallaher Hoglund of San Angelo, TX; a special daughter, Bebe Horne of Crestview, FL, and many cousins.
Visitation will be on Sunday, November 2nd, at 12:00 noon at Whitehurst-Powell Funeral Home Chapel in Crestview, to be followed by the funeral service at 1:00 PM. Burial will be at St. John's Cemetery in Pensacola following the service.
The family would like to thank Patsy Petersen and Brenda Headrick for their excellent care and love- they are special angels!
Floral arrangements will be accepted or contributions may be made to The Leukemia Society of Houston, 5005 Mitchelldale St., Suite 115, Houston, TX 77092.
