Jewel Barr, 71 of Pensacola, passed away Sunday, October 26, 2008.
"The Kitchen is closed, the cook has gone home."
Jewel, best known for her good cooking and sharp wit, owned the Korner Bar, then Jewel's Restaurant until 1989.
Her husband, Dillon, preceded her in death.
Jewel is survived by her children, Debi Orr (John) of Pensacola, Donna Gresham (Wayne) of Atlanta, GA, and Doug Barr (Rene) of Pensacola; brother and sister-in-law, James "Buck" and Linda Turner of Milton; grandchildren, Justin McGhee (Angie), Brandy Ruhl (Billy), Chance Lowery, Shannon Davidson, and Lindsey Barr; great-grandchildren, Maddison, Mason, and Tristan; and many nieces and nephews. She was much loved and will be missed by family and friends.
Visitation will be on Thursday, October 30, 2008 from 5 PM to 7 PM at Pensacola Memorial Gardens Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be at 11 AM Friday at the funeral home.
