Born Sept. 22, 1914, in Fowler, he was a 1932 graduate of Boswell High School, and later attended Purdue University.
On Dec. 21, 1938, he married Elsie E. Leach, in Saratoga. She died Aug. 4, 1996.
Mr. Robinson owned and operated F&S Tree Removal Service for seven years, retiring in 1986. Prior to that he was a farmer for 40 years. He served two terms as a Grant Township Trustee.
He was a member of St. John's Episcopal Church since 1976, where he served on the vestry. He was a 50-year member of the Masonic Lodge, and a member of Tippecanoe Masonic Lodge 123, Eagles Lodge 347, and Moose Lodge 1529. He was an avid Jeff High School and Purdue sports fan, and was an IHSAA and USA track official for 25 years. He enjoyed travel. He had owned and enjoyed Mercedes-Benz cars since 1962.
Surviving are his children, Edward Robinson (wife: Dottie), Anthony M. Robinson (wife: Lynn), Dorinda Kueberth (husband: Jack), all of Lafayette, and John V. Robinson (wife: Phyllis) of Bunker Hill, Ill. three brothers, Duane Robinson (wife: Pauline) of Remington, and Darold Robinson (wife: Alice) of Oxford.
Friends may call from 1 p.m. until services at 3 p.m. Saturday, May 17, 2003, in St. John's Episcopal Church, Father Ed Tourangeau officiating. Survivors include 13 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by a granddaughter, Amy Lynn Robinson a sister, Miss Irma Robinson and a great-grandson, Wyatt Robinson.
