The funeral of John Lay was held Monday at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Jennie Allen. Mr. Lay was one of the oldest members of Martville having lived here all his life. He had been engaged in business in his younger days and was highly respected by those who knew him. The deceased was 88 years old. He leaves a daughter, Mrs. Jennie Allen, and three grandchildren, Bessie, Harry and Ruth Allen, to mourn his loss."
