She married James Martin Browning on Sept. 28, 1935. He preceded her in death Sept. 24, 1997. They were devoted to each other for the 62 years that they were married.

She was a homemaker who lived her entire life in Franklin County. She helped Martin on the family farm that they owned and operated for many years. She was a long time member of Franklin County Home Extension. She was a great cook and homemaker. Friends and family especially enjoyed her coconut pie.

She is survived by her children, Richard (Nora) Browning of Ewing and Janice (Val) Pritchett of Normal; and by four grandchildren, Ste-ven (Sandy) Browning, Susan (David) Schmitt, Mark (Julie) Pritchett and Emily (Matt) Carter. She is also survived by six great-grandchildren, Tyler Pritchett, Matthew Pritchett, Sydney Browning, Jordan Miller, Lucas Carter and Helena Carter.

One granddaughter, Shelley Browning Romani preceded her in death.

She was also preceded in death by two brothers, John (Lorene) Page and Thurmond (Norma) Page.

Genevieve and Martin were members of Webb's Prairie Free Will Baptist Church for many years where she served as a Sunday school teacher. They later joined First Free Will Baptist Church in Benton where she was still a member.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff and nurses at Helia Healthcare and to Dr. Rethorst for their care and concern.

She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother who will be sadly missed by all of her family and friends.
