Rev Charles Aloysius Branton OSA

Charles was born in Philadelphia PA on November 15, 1885. After receiving his early education in Philadelphia's parochial schools, he studied at St Joseph's College, completed the novitiate at nearby Villanova in 1905 and was ordained to the priesthood at the Cathedral in Philadelphia by Bishop Prendergast in 1911.

Fr Charles was first stationed at Waterford NY, after which he served on the mission band until 1929. He was Rector of St Augustine's in Andover MA from 1929 to 1935.

Fr Charles was 51 when he passed away in Bryn Mawr Hospital, in Bryn Mawr PA, on May 12, 1936. He is buried in the Community Cemetery at Villanova.
