WILLIAM GUILLIAMS 1840 1918
William Guilliams, a former resident of Harrisonville for several years, was born in Putnam County, Indiana April 15, 1840 and died at his home, Edmond, Oklahoma County, Oklahoma at 12:30 on the morning of May 27, 1918. He was converted early in life and united with the Christian Church of which he was a faithful and consistent member until the time of his death. He was also a member of the Grand Army of the Republic. At the beginning of the Civil War he enlisted in Company F Fourth Regiment of Iowa Infantry and served continuously until the close of the war between the states. In 1864 Mr. Guilliams was united in marriage at Patterson, la with Miss Abigail DeBroad, who with two sons Robert and William Guilliams both of Edmond, Okla. and one sister Mrs. Eliza Beall of Eakly, Caddo County, Oklahoma, survive the deceased also four grandchildren and a wide circle of friends. Mr. Guilliams was a kind and loving husband, an affectionate father and an upright honest citizen. For many years he had been a great sufferer but bore his afflictions bravely until the end. Funeral services were held at the Edmond Christian Church at 3 Tuesday afternoon May 28 conducted by the Rev II Johnson assisted by the Rev Ridings and internment followed at Gracelawn Cemetery in Edmond.
