J. Leonard Adam, 89, Coalport, died Sunday afternoon, Nov. 14, 1999, at Beverly Healthcare-Hillview, Altoona. He was born Jan. 30, 1910, in Coalport, the son of the late Joseph A. and A. Mattie (Boone) Adam. He married Amelia M. Shoff Aug. 6, 1933, in Cumberland, Md. She died Feb. 8, 1995. Mr. Adam had attended Roseland Christian Fellowship Church, Coalport RD. He was a contractor. Mr. Adam was a graduate of Beccaria Township High School. He was an avid golfer. Mr. Adam was a member and post noble grand of Korman Lodge of International Order of Odd Fellows, member and past president of Beccaria Township and Beccaria-Coalport-Irvona high schools board of directors and the former Coalport-Irvona Rotary Club, member of Beccaria-Coalport-Irvona Industrial Development Authority and past member of the Glendale Area Medical Center Board of Directors. Surviving are two sons: Thomas E. and Lynn, both of Coalport; a sister, Lorraine Saunders of Trafford; a brother, Herman of Coalport; two grandsons; and two great-granddaughters. Friends will be received from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. today and noon to 1 p.m. Wednesday at Roseland Christian Fellowship Church, Coalport RD. Arrangments are by McQuown Funeral Home, Glasgow. Interment will be made in Flinton.
