Winnsboro, La., Jan. 6. — (Special) — William J. Weems, 71, Route 3, died Friday at a local clinic. Funeral services will be held at the Coax Baptist Church, but time for services are indefinite. Interment, under the direction of the First National Funeral Home, will follow in the Coax Cemetery.
He is survived by four daughters: Mrs. Emma Humphreys, Winnsboro, Mrs. Lean [sic? Lena] Turnage, Winnsboro, Mrs. Thelma Coston, Baskin, Mrs. Alma Brown, Augusta, Ga.; three sons, W. L. Weems, Winnsboro, Charles Weems, Winnsboro, Francis Weems, Springhill; five brothers, Walter, Carrol, and S. J. Weems, all of Delhi, Walter Weems, Rayville, Ervin Weems, Winnsboro; one sister, Mrs. Mat Peoples, Winnsboro; ten grandchildren, one great-grandchild; and a number of nieces and nephews.
