Arden G. Stinger, 76, died Sunday in Oswego after a long
illness.
Mr. Stinger was a life resident of Cleveland. He worked on the
O & W Railroad for 13 years. He retired in 1978 from Camden Wire after
25 years. He was an avid barber shop singer and founder and lifetime
member of the Pine Grove Horseshoe Club of Camden.
He is survived by his wife Alice; three daughters, Cherie Guppy
of Fulton, Nancy Griesmyer of Cleveland and Gail Whitney of Bernhards
Bay; a brother, Floyd Stinger of Lake Jackson, Tex.; 11 grandchildren;
eight great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He was
predeceased in 1990 by a son, Arden G. Stinger Jr., of Florida.
Services will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. from Watson Funeral
Home, 206 S. Main St., Central Square. The Rev. John Stenberg will
officiate, with burial in Maple Flats Cemetery, Cleveland. Friends may call
today from 7 to 9 p.m. and prior to the funeral Tuesday at the funeral
home. Contributions may be made to the Cleveland United Methodist Church
Building Fund, Cleveland, N.Y. 13042.
