Funeral services for Captain H. H. Niles, '89-er and confederate veteran, who died Tuesday night, will be held at 4 o'clock this afternoon at his former residence, 915 West Grand avenue, the Rev. Thomas H. Harper of the Pilgrim Congregational church officiating. Interment will be at Fairlawn.

Captain Niles had been an invalid for the past five years. He was in his 81st year, and his death was due to infirmities of old age. He was a charter member of the David H. Hammond camp of Confederate veterans, and also an 89-er.

When the Oklahoman started publication in Oklahoma City Captain Niles was numbered among the first subscribers. He read volume one, number one, and up to the day of his death has not missed a single copy.

The deceased has held several city positions, being the first city street commissioner, which position he held for several terms. His last municipal position was city weigher. He is survived by a wife, a son, who is sales manager of the Gault Lumber company, and three daughters, Mrs. C. D. Jones and Mrs. George Julian of this city, and Mrs. N. B. McGee of Los Angeles.
