Son of John H. Neher and Hannah Elizabeth Henricks Neher. G.W.'s family participated in the first Land Run of 1889 opening up the "Unassigned Lands" for settlement now central Oklahoma. The family homesteaded 160 acre farm near Crescent, Logan County, Oklahoma. Gold Wellington married Maggie Marie Homan 16 Dec 1909 in Guthrie, Logan County, Oklahoma. They had at least one child, Orley Lee Roy Neher.
