George D. Adamson, 79, died Monday, July 2, 2007, at Memorial Health University Medical Center. The Tattnall County native had lived in Glennville all his life. The U. S. Army veteran was a graduate of Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College and The University of Georgia. He was an amateur photographer, an avid naturalist and outdoorsman, and a great supporter of the American Indian culture. He was a member of Glennville United Methodist Church, and a farmer.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Dewey and Grace Sikes Adamson; and a daughter, Amy Adamson Bowen.
He is survived by special friend, Mary Dyer of Glennville; daughters and son-in-law, Paula and Rick Wolf and Christi Adamson, all of Glennville; sister, Lyndal Rogers of Glennville; eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Graveside funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Thursday, July 5, at Glennville City Cemetery, with the Rev. Vance Riggins officiating.
