Yvonne Alene Thomas Goins, age 67, our loving mother, grandmother and wife, died on January 3, 1990 of natural causes in a Salt Lake City Hospital.

Born June 25, 1922 in Salt Lake City, Utah to George Albert and Alice Ellis Thomas. Yvonne graduated from South High School. Married James C. Goins on June 25, 1942 in Salt Lake City, Utah. Yvonne will be remembered as a thoughtful, caring, giving, and loving person who devoted her life to the Lord, her family and to the betterment of others. She loved flowers, sewing, travel and the simpler things in life. She was an active member of the Central Seventh-Day Adventist Church, in Salt Lake City, Utah. She served as President of the Nevada-Utah Conference Federaion Community Services, served as treasurer, teacher and was director of Community Services. Yvonne worked for the Salt Lake City School District as an educator for 18 years, primarily with early childhood students.

She is survived by her husband, James C. Goins; three sons, James C. Goins, and wife, Vickie, Orange, California; Pierre Goins and wife, Sonja, Jon P. Goins, twin daughters, Yvonne Goins and Yvette Goins, three sisters, Lois Browne, Oma Prescott and Yvette Maxine Goins, all of Salt Lake City, Utah; one brother, George A. Thomas, Carson City, California; three grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews and a host of friends.

Funeral Services will be held on Monday, January 8, 1990 at 1 p.m. at Larkin Mortuary, 260 East South Temple Street, where friends may call on Sunday from 6-8 p.m. and on Monday one hour prior to services.
Interment: Mount Olivet Cemetery, 1342 East 500 South.
