Daniel was the second child in a family of eight known children. His brothers and sisters were: Joseph James Henry (1863-1952), who was born in Maryland, and the following brothers and sisters born in Pennsylvania: William T. Henry (1868-1909), Mary E. Henry-Logan (1871-1919), Edward Albert Henry (1872-1960), Theodore Francis Henry (1875-1962), John T. Henry (1877-1929), and Florence Elizabeth Henry-McNulty (1879-1963).
Daniel left his father's farm in Cambria County, and moved to Indiana. There he met Laura A. Lovel, born in Tennessee (1872-1948) and they married in 1901. Daniel worked in the coal mines Vigo County, Indiana, and the couple had four children: Charles C. Henry (1902-1982), William W. Henry (1904-), Anna C. Henry-Creasey (1906-1998), and Mary Henry (1911-1911).
Daniel died on Jan 22, 1940, in Vigo County, and is buried in the Markle Cemetery.
