Funeral services for G. M. Alston, 82, who died at 11:30 o’clock Monday morning at the home of his daughter, Mrs. W. B. Powell, in Baskin, La., from pneumonia. Services were conducted by the Rev. Keys, pastor of the Baptist Church at Baskin. Burial was in the Coax Cemetery, near that community.
In addition to Mrs. Powell, Mr. Alston is survived by three other daughters, Mrs. C. C. Turbeville of McGehee, Mrs. P. M. Knox and Mrs. M. T. Lawrence of Baskin. He was the grandfather of Miss Alice Powell of this community.
