Lawrence (Jack) Hadcock was laid to its final rest in Martville cemetery this afternoon after services in the Presbyterian church of Fair Haven where his family and friends paid tribute to this hero who lost his life in World War II when his plane was shot down while on a bombing mission over the Roumanian oil fields.

Last December Mrs. Patricia Hadcock of Fair Haven was notified that the remains of her husband. Lt Lawrence (Jack) Hadcock. had been found and identified. The body was found in a common grave of three and was identified by the estimated age of the deceased and by his dental records.

There was a great array of floral tributes. The church was crowded to capacity. The body arrived in Fulton at 8 o'clock this morning and was taken by Becker & Son, Red Creek undertakers, to the home of the parents in Fair Haven. It was removed to the church at 3 p. m. where services were held with Rev. Alvin W. Stewart, pastor of the church, officiating. In the church were the members of the George Ingersott Post, 858. American Legion of Fair Haven. The body was accompanied by First Lieut William D. Mason as military escort. Lieut. Hadcock is survived by his wife, Mrs Patricia Hadcock, his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Edward Hadcock; one sister Miss Margaret Hadcock, his paternal grandmother, Mrs. Lillian Hadcock; his maternal grandfather, George Scott, all of Fair Haven. He was born in Syracuse May 28, 1910, a graduate of Manlius Military academy.
