A funeral will be Tuesday for Brown Franklin Davis, 77, of Bend area, former long-time resident of the Eugene area, who died Friday at a Bend hospital. Born in Richmond, VA, Mr. Davis came to Oregon at the age of 3. He was a rancher and logger. His first wife was Rose Foster, who preceeded him in death, his second wife, Dorothy died in 1961. He is survived by four sons, Floyd of Brownsville, Howard Porter of Prineville, Ronald of Eugene, and Larry of Terrebonne. Two daughters, Mrs. Seymour (Bette) Allen of Junction City and Mrs. John (Jean) Heeter of Roseburg. Two brothers, Joseph of Springfield and Arlie of Portland, two sisters Mrs. Clara Elliott of Portland and Mrs.Mildred Boring of Eugene. 16 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be at 1 p.m. at Zacher Mortuary in Redmond. Burial will be in Pilot Butte Cemetery. The family asks that those who wish to do so made contributions in Davis' memory to the American Cancer Society.

Brown Franklin Davis, Jr, born on June 25, 1934 in Eugene, Oregon, the only son of Helen Christine Mitchell and Brown Franklin Davis, Sr. Brown Jr's name was changed to William John Haas when he was adopted following Helen'’s marriage to Edmund Joseph Haas after Helen and Brown, Sr divorced.
