JOE C. GREER
Joe C. Greer, age 77, a resident of Dade City, Florida for 43 years, and a former "Supervisor of Registration for Pasco County (and Dade City Marshal in 1916), died last Friday in Milledgeville, Georgia. He was a native of Dickson County, Tennessee where he was born on March 14, 1875, the son of John A. Greer and Mary Giles Greer.
He is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Lesta Hunnicutt of Columbus Georgia, and two grandsons: Captain Charles Watson of For Jackson, South Carolina and Paul Greer of the U.S. Navy.
Funeral services were held in Dade City at the chapel of the funeral home of Coleman & Ferguson, with Dr. J.M. Alen of the Church of Christ officiating. Interment was in the Dade City Cemetery. Active and honorary pallbearers were Leon Douglas, H.E. Stanaland, Lee R. Douglas, H.G. Batchelor, R.L. Sumner, I.W. Hudson, E. Muller, J. Ed Bryant, W.E. Douglas, W.V. Gilbert, Cyrus Bennett and Ceci Lee Smith.

Joseph Cave Greer was born in Hickman County, Tennessee to John Andrew and Mary Giles Geer. It is believed he married Mary Ellen Potts Moss in approximately 1901. They had three children together. Joseph listed himself as a widower in the 1910 census. At that time, they children were all listed as boarders in different households.
