RIDLEY PARK, Pa. - William H. Avery Sr., 72, of 207 Barker St., died yesterday in Taylor Hospital after a long illness.
Mr. Avery operated Connor and Avery Hair Specialists in the Girard Trust Building, Philadelphia, with his brother, George M. Avery of Haverford, until he retired last year.
In addition to his brother he is survived by his wife, Helen Appleton Avery; a son, William H. Jr. of Fort Lauderdale, Fla.; a daughter, Joan A. Mealey of Kensington, Md., and seven grandchildren.
Mass of Christian Burial will be offered Saturday morning at 9:30 at St. Madeline's Catholic Church, Ridley Park. Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery, 33rd and Market streets, Wilmington, Del. Instead of flowers, the family suggests contributions to Taylor Hospital, East Chester Pike, Ridley Park 19078. There will be no viewing.
