A memorial service to celebrate the life of Joseph L. Bitner, 75, of Longview, will be 11 a.m. Monday, October 27, 2008, at Alpine Presbyterian Church, with the Rev. Richard Hollingsworth officiating. Mr. Bitner will be cremated according to his wishes under the direction of Rader Funeral Home of Longview.
Mr. Bitner went to be with his Lord Saturday morning, October 25, 2008, at a local hospital.
He was born January 3, 1933, in Mill Hall, Pennsylvania. He was retired from Rockwell International as a facility manager and was a member of Alpine Presbyterian Church. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.
He is survived by his wife LaVerne; daughters, Barbara Ann Milne and husband, Greg, of Lompoc, Calif., and Nancy Jean Jansson and husband, Paul, of LaMirada, Calif.; sons, Kenneth Lee Bitner and wife, Julie, of Powhatan, Va., and Christopher Robert Bitner and wife, Joyce, of Wellington, Fla.; 12 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and a sister, Catherine Symons of New Tripoli, Pa.
