SOUTH DANSVILLE - Wilbur C. Burger, 75, of County Route 46 in the Town of Dansville (Steuben Co.) passed away unexpectedly at home late Tuesday evening, Jan. 27, 2004.
Bill was born in Hornell on March 14, 1928, a son of the late Carl L. and Adelia Bentley Burger. On July 30, 1955, he married Anita Lemen Burger, who survives. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his brother Lyle Burger.
Bill was employed as a welder at Foster Wheeler Energy Corp. in Dansville for 46 years retiring in 1991. He was a member of the South Dansville United Methodist Church and was a life member of the South Dansville Volunteer Fire Dept. He enjoyed deer hunting and fishing in his younger years.
Surviving in addition to his dear wife Anita are a son, Roy Burger of Rochester, and four daughters, Maureen (Patrick) Cornell of Jasper, Janice (Dennis) Layton of Watkins Glen, Bonnie (Bret Carver) Yezarski of Arkport, and Nancy (Tim) Hepburn of Ontario, N.Y.; two sisters, Corinne (Ross) Glover and Doris (Larry) Smalt, both of Dansville; nine grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Friends called Friday 4-7 p.m. at the Hindle Funeral Home, 271 Main St., Dansville, where services were held Saturday at 11 a.m., Pastor Alan Fox officiating. Interment was in Rogersville Forest Lawn Cemetery, South Dansville.
