Benjamin Franklin Porter was born Jan. 8, 1885 in Floyd County Kentucky to Daniel Boone Porter and Minnie Martha (Bradley) Porter. He married Florence Elizabeth Tibbett on Jan. 13, 1907 at Parkland, Lincoln County, Oklahoma. They were blessed with 11 children. He was a member of the Church of The Firstborn and was loved by his family and church members.

He was the twin brother of William Jim Porter
