Harrison Andrew Stevens was the eldest child of William M. Stevens and Hester "Hixey" V. Jones.

The Stevens family were the first white settlers south of the McKenzie River in the Willamette Forks area, arriving in 1847. the Stevens family house was on Game Farm Road, where Sacred Heart-RiverBend Hospital is now located.

Death of H.A. Stevens - The remains of Harrison Stevens, an old citizen of this (illegible) arrived here from eastern Oregon on Thursday. Mr. Stevens being in poor health went east of the mountains hoping to be benefitted but grew worse instead of better. The last rites were performed yesterday at the family burying ground by Eugene Lodge No. 11 A.F. & A.M., of which he was a member.NOTE:

Harrison A. Stevens and Sarah Bogart Foley Stevens were both originally buried in the Stevens/Armitage family cemetery but were moved to Gillespie Cemetery when the family property was sold in 1901. Cemetery records indicate "Moved: Harrison Stevens, wife and child." There are no grave markers for them, however.
