Corinne Harriet Burger Glover, of Van Campen St., in Dansville, NY, died at age 81 on September 11, 2006, in Highland Hospital in Rochester after a short illness.
Corinne was born in Bethesda Hospital in Hornell, on April 4, 1925, a daughter of Carl Leo and Adelia Bentley Burger of South Dansville. On December 31, 1945, she was married at the home of Rev. Robert H. McKee of Dansville, to Harold Ross Glover of Canaseraga. At their 60th Wedding Anniversary party in Dansville on December 26, 2005, Mr.Glover noted, his wife wrote him a letter every day for almost 3 years while he served overseas during World War II. Predeceasing Corinne in addition to her parents were her brothers, Wilbur "Bill" Burger and Lyle Burger.
Corinne grew up in South Dansville and graduated from Dansville High School in 1943. She enjoyed gardening and in her earlier years was an accomplished bowler. She also enjoyed going for drives in the country with her husband Ross. In their earlyyears he would impress her by bucking snow drifts with his Model A Ford. In their immaculate home, she chronicled her love and growth of her family in volumes of scrap books, and covered the walls and furniture tops with pictures of her children and extended family. She enjoyed jigsaw puzzles and had an extensive collection of salt and pepper shakers, including some inherited from her mother-in-law, others were brought to her by friends and family from around the country.
Surviving in addition to her husband of over 60 years H. Ross Glover, are two sons; Robert Glover and his wife Shelly of Sleepy Hollow, Donald Glover of Derby, and his fiancee Donna Fischer of Orchard Park. Five grandsons, Mark Glover of Hornell, Matt Glover of Fairport, Michael Glover of Buffalo, Daniel Glover of Angola, and Chris Glover of New York City. A sister Doris Burger Smalt, and her husband Larry of Dansville, and many nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received on Thursday from 2 -4 pm and 6 - 9 pm at the Hindle Funeral Home, 271 Main Street, Dansville. A funeral service will be held Friday at 11:00 am in the Dansville United Methodist Church, 5 Chestnut Ave., with the Rev. James W.Stevens and the Rev. David Hotchkiss officiating. Internment will be in Rogersville Forest Lawn Cemetery, South Dansville, where her brothers, parents, grandparents, great-grandparents, and great-great-grandparents are also interred.
