Irene was preceeded in death by her husband, Chester. Irene is survived by her older sister who will be 101 in Nov. 2008, nephews, nieces, grand and great nephews and nieces. Irene LOVED to travel the world. She took land tours and cruises to too many places to mention. She surrounded herself in her home with all of her treasures & knick-knacks which she brought home from her travels. She could tell you a story about anything you asked about. She knew where it came from, the year, etc. She loved to make Quilts and Afghans for herself and family. She wasted nothing by making her quilts from used clothing as well as material scrapes.

Irene was a VFW Volunteer for over 50 years. She was the only person locally who received a 50 year pin for VFW.

Irene bought bags of groceries weekly for the homeless food bank for as long as we can remember. She didn't want to talk about her goods deeds, she just did them.
