Mrs. Mary Tillery, 82, of Columbia,went home to be with her precious Savior Monday, September 13, 2004.
Funeral service will be 2 p.m.Wednesday, Sept. 15,at South Belt Line Baptist Church, with Pastor Eric Sloan
officiating. Interment will be in Greenlawn Memorial Park.
She was a daughter of Daniel and Ada Pickering Sturkie.
She was a graduate of Norway High School and Columbia Commercial College. Mrs. Tillery retired as a bookkeeper with Capital Electrical Supply.She was a member of Beltline Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by brothers,
Spurgeon Sturkie and Halford Sturkie and sisters, Crystalee Price and Elease Weaverand a grandson, Rocky Knox. Survivors includeher beloved husband, Edward W. "Mr. T" Tillery, of Columbia; children, Ann Banks Butler, of Columbia,Gail Thomas, of Gaston, Joffere L. Banks Jr.,
of Columbia, Louise Wells, of Ballentine, Carolyn Banks,of Cope. Also surviving are stepchildren, Carolyn Goodman and Randall Tillery, of Montgomery, Ala. Mrs. Tillery is survived by 10 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. The family wishesto extend a special thank you to Sue Driggers and staff of National Health Care for their
compassion and care. Mrs. Tillery`s special Bible verses are "Sing forth the honor of his name; make his praise glorious." Ps. 66:2;"And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; there shall be no more death, neither
sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain; for the former things are passed away. " Rev. 21:4. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at Shives Funeral Home. Memorial may be made to the South Beltline Baptist Church, 1505 S. Belt Line Blvd.,
