Giuseppe Maria Picardi was born in Chiusano di San Domenico, Avellino, Campania, Italy on 17 Jun 1861. He was the son of Arcangelo Picardi & Carmela Matarazzo.

Giuseppe departed Naples, Naples, Campania, Italy aboard the SS Elysia. He arrived at Castle Garden, NY, NY, USA on 26 Apr 1886. Giuseppe returned to Italy to marry his first cousin; Fiorinda Cataldo in Chiusano di San Domenico, Avellino, Campania, Italy on 10 Mar 1894. They both returned to the USA at Ellis Island NY, NY, USA aboard the SS Fulda on 5 Apr 1894. Giuseppe became a US citizen in Boston, Suffolk, Massachusetts, USA on 25 Jan 1897.

Giuseppe & Fiorinda had 11 children: Michael, Carmela, Gulia, George, Amarino, Aurelio, Amadeo, Palmino, Mary and Angelina. The family initially lived in the North End of Boston. They eventually settled in East Boston, Massachusetts, USA.

Giuseppe died in Boston, Suffolk, Massachusetts, USA on 10 Mar 1937. He is buried with his wife and children: Carmela & Palmino.
