Ruby loved her new school and new friends who honored her in so many ways and until her death on October 15, 2008. Her love for them still existed.
She was predeceased by her parents, Quitman Floyd Hearne and Mary Odessa White-Hearne.
Ruby is survived by her husband Billy J. Russell, her sister, Doris Hearne Clark, her husband, Kenneth R. Clark who was like the brother she never had, nephews Mark and Gary Clark, a great-niece, Samantha Clark all of Conway. Other survivors are a few cousins and Billy's sister, Patsy Jones, his niece, Lisa Jones and his great-nephew, Dustin Cochran.
Ruby wanted a non-traditional funeral, a celebration of life with no tears, only smiles and laughter for she is now without pain. If anyone chooses to share the good times together in Fordyce it would please her. Rev. George Tanner, retired, a 1951 classmate also will preside over the event. The services will be held in the Chapel of Benton Funeral Home in Fordyce.
Pallbearers will be Marvin Frazier, William D. Lynn, Floyd Mayfield, Jesse Hornaday and Laverne Williams. If memorials are made, she would be pleased if they were made to her favorite charities, First United Methodist Church, 1610 Prince, Conway, AR 72034; First United Methodist Church, West 4th Street, Fordyce, AR 71742. Arrangements by Benton Funeral Home of Fordyce. To sign the online register visit www.bentonfuneralhome.com.
