FATAL FALL At the Papatawa sports meeting on Easter Monday the horse Evening Hero, when competing in a leaping event, fell and broke his neck. His rider, Mr Philip Turnbull, the nineteen-year-old, second son of Mr S. Turnbull, a baker of Woodville, fell on his head and received concussion. He was removed in an unconscious condition to his home in Ross street, Woodville and was later conveyed to Palmerston North Hospital where he died early this afternoon without gaining consciousness.
