Earl G. Pippin, 74, formerly of 110 Robinson Street, Kingsport, passed away Monday, October 20, 2008, in Lakebridge Health Care Center.

He was a native of Washington County, Virginia, and a son of the late Earnest and Lois Leonard Pippin. Mr. Pippin was a steelworker and attended Cedar Creek Baptist Church, Gray.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a brother, Roy Pippin and a sister, Patsy Pippin. Survivors include a sister, Irene Moore, Florida and several step-children including David Hutchins of Johnson City.

Graveside services for Mr. Pippin will be conducted 3:00 PM Sunday, October 26, 2008, in the Washington County Memory Gardens with the Rev. Bill Whitlock officiating. Pallbearers will be selected from friends. The family will receive friends Sunday from 1:30 to 2:30 PM at the funeral home then proceed to the cemetery.

The family request that in lieu of flowers that memorial contributions be made to the funeral home to help with burial expenses.
