John Amos (Jack) Fenstermaker - A Master Farmer.

John Amos (Jack) Fenstermaker, age 90, passed away peacefully at his home in Grantsville, Utah on Tuesday, January 27, 2004.

Jack was born November 27, 1913 to Charles Henry Hubbard Fenstermaker and Dora Elizabeth Johnson. He was the fifth child of a family of eight children. He was born in Salt Lake City and grew up on the family farm in Sandy, Utah. He loved farming and working the soil.

Jack and Gladys moved to Grantsville in 1995. Jack married Gladys Bills, Dec. 17, 1938, thereafter solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple December 12, 1960. They recently celebrated 65 years of marriage.

He retired from Metropolitan Water Company as a Maintenance Foreman in 1978. Jack held many positions in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints including bishopric, stake High Councilor, Manager of the Sandy Central Stake Farm, faithful home teacher and many cherished years as a Scout Master.

Jack is survived by his loving wife, Gladys Bills Fenstermaker, daughter, LaRue (Lee) Dumas, Midvale; Karen (Edward) Watson, Grantsville; Ivan (June) Fenstermaker (Rigby, Idaho), nine grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren; brother, Charles (Judy) Fenstermaker, Salt Lake City, brother-in-law Ray (Donna) Bills, Riverton and sisters-in-law Virginia Fenstermaker, Orpha Eastman, Zelda Lloyd, Myrth Bills and Lois Bills.

Services will be held Saturday, January 31, 11:00 a.m., Goff Mortuary, 8090 South State Street, Midvale, Utah. Friends may call Saturday 9:30 to 10:45 a.m. prior to services.
