AHRENS SERVICES HELD AT ADAMS CHURCH SUNDAY

Funeral Services were held on Sunday at Adams Lutheran Church for John Edward Ahrens,of r r 1 Batesville. who died of a Heart Attack at his home last Wednesday.

Mr Ahrens was born in Ripley county on Jan 26,1850 the son of Henry and Anna (Fruchtnicht) Ahrens. He had lived his entire life on the farm where he died except for a period spent with the armed forces during World War I/
He had served over seas from July 15, 1918 to Feb 11, 1919/

His body was found by Mervin Ahrens around 4;30 pm last Wednesday when he was delivering a load of corn to the deceased. He had fallen from a chair in the Kitchen and had only been dead a short time when found


He had never Married.

Mr Ahrens was a member of the Adams Lutheran Church and Ripley County Barracks NO 190 of Veterans of World War I

Survivors Include one Sister Mrs Anna Michel of Batesville,
A sister in Law Mrs Chris Ahrens of Sheffield Iowa. Three Neices Mrs Rhoda Luers, r r 1 Batesville. Mrs Oscar Weber of Batesville. and Mrs Milan VanSickel of Sheffield Iowa.
and a Nephew Raymond Michel of Batesville.

REv Fred W Fiedler officiated at the last Rites with interment taking place in the Adams Church Cemetery. Under the direction of meyers Funeral Home.

Casket Bearers were Ervin Schorling Sr, Mervin Ahrens,August Ahrens, William Ahrens, John Luers, and Wess Brewer.
