MRS. M. A. KEITH DEAD
Mrs. Keith, wife of Philip W. Keith, and mother of Mrs. S.A. Paragory, of Byesville, passed peacefully away, at the home of her daughter, Monday evening, at the hour of nine.
The end came silently and without a struggle. With a smile on the face made beautiful by a life of service for her Master, and fellowmen, she fell asleep, to awake in His likeness and be satisfied.
Thursday evening, Mrs. Keith felt ill, but insistd on her daughter attending the prayer meeting. Upon return Mrs. Paragory found her mother very sick and a physician was hastily summoned. Friday morning symptoms of pneumonia were apparent, and by reason of her advanced age, eighty-nine years, small hopes were entertained for her recovery. The disease developed with unusual rapidity and her enfeebled constitution could not resist the fatal ravages. The frail barque has crossed the bar, and launched upon the unknown sea, to be safely guided by the Death Angel to that bright celestial land, among whose mansions a devout soul has earned peace and rest eternal.
The bereaved ones, by whom the loss is most keenly felt, and to whom a sad, sad hour has come, are the husband, the daughter, with whom the aged couple made their home, one sister, Mrs. Clendenen, of California and one brother, Samuel Shinn, of Crooksville. Two sisters, five brothers and one son have been laid away, tearfully and prayerfully one by one, by the loving hands now still.
Short services were held Tuesday ____________ Dr. Dewey, of Cambridge, district superintendent of this conference, being in charge. The body was taken on the morning train Wednesday to __________ where thirty-four years of the life of the deceased were spent and there services were held in the Methodist church, of which denomination Mrs. Keith had been an earnest, zealous member since early childhood.
All that was earthly was laid to rest beside an only son, Charles, who died more than thirty years ago.
We extend our sympathy to the sorrowing in this hour of grief.
