Ernest was the son of Samaritan A. & Thankful (Clawson) Dulin. On December 9, 1908, Ernest was married to Jennie Elizabeth Thomas (also buried at Oak Grove Cemetery). Jennie was the daughter of James E. & Ella (Chambers) Thomas. Ernest & Jennie parented reportedly at least five children between the years of 1909 & 1930: Oma, Frances Mabelle (also buried at Oak Grove Cemetery), Nellie M. (also buried at Oak Grove Cemetery), Robert Chambers, & Charles E. Ernest's death certificate notes that he was a Western Union telegraph operator in the city of Delaware, OH.
