Enoch Robbins, an old resident of Mahaska County, and eldest son of Hockett and Mahala Robbins, was born January 8, 1849, near Crawfordsville, Indiana, Parks County, and passed away at his home, north of Fremont, at 3:30 a.m., Tuesday, January 25,1921, aged 72 years and 17 days.

He came to Iowa with his parents in 1854 and settled near Rose Hill, Iowa, where they lived some time. Then, during the year 1891, they moved to a farm north of Fremont, where they have since resided. On October 11, 1877, he was united in marriage to Mary Alexander. To this union nine children were born. He is survived by his wife, Mary Robbins, and eight children--C. O. Robbins, of Martinsburg, Elmer of Stewart, Wyo., Mrs. H. H. Glasscock of Omaha, Ill., A. S. Robbins, of Chancellor, Canada, Mrs. V. W. Lock of Oskaloosa, Bert and Howard and Mrs. V.W. Wolfe of Fremont. One son, William McKinley Robbins, died May 11, 1904. He is also survived by 14 grandchildren, two brothers and three sisters--Reaborn and Charles Robbins, of Rose Hill, Mrs. Clayton Derby, of Ollie, Mrs. John Blake and Mrs. Anna Covey, of Rose Hill.

Funeral services were held at the home at ll:00 a.m., Saturday, January 29, 1921, in charge of Rev. A.D. Huff. There was a large attendance of neighbors and friends. Interment was made in the Tioga Cemetery.
