Born in Columbia, she was the daughter of the late Fred and Pinkie Rutledge Best.
She was a homemaker and an Auxiliary Volunteer at the Laurens County Hospital. She was a member of the Laurens Church of God for 73 years where she was the oldest living charter member, Sunday School teacher, and church clerk.
Surviving is one son, Grady E. "Gene" Thompson and wife, Gaynelle of West Columbia; two daughters, Margaret N. Roberts and husband Roy S. of Springboro, OH and Norma Ann Jacks and husband George of Lynchburg, VA, seven grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
Funeral services will be 2:00 pm, Saturday October 25, 2008 at Laurens Church of God conducted by Rev. Ossie Deese, Rev. Alton Stone, Rev. Kevin S. Thompson, and Rev. Wesley Thompson with burial in Forest Lawn Cemetery.
