Obit for Alden Ward--
Alden D. Ward is dead at 72
Alden D. Ward, a distributor for Sinclair Refining company in the area many years, died suddenly this morning at his home, 33 Mary Street. His age was 72. Clara Hawley Ward, his wife, died on August 8 last.
Mr. Ward was born in Scipio. He was a member of the First Methodist Church, the Kiwanis Club and the United Commercial Travelers. He is survived by one son, Raymond Ward of Cortland, one grandson, Barry Ward, and two granddaughters, Suzanne and Patricia Ward of Cortland; one brother, William Ward, of Moravia; two sisters, Mrs. Fred Sherman of Levanna and Miss Myra Ward of Levanna; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Lester F. Brew Funeral Home, 48 South Street. Rev. Floyd E. Guiles, pastor of First Methodist Church, will officiate. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Scipioville.
Calling hours will be from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday, at the funeral home.

Pall Bearers were Homer White, Clifford White of Union Springs, Stanley White of Port Byron and Gordon Ward of Auburn, nephews, and Marion Schenck of Union Springs and Clarence Ingersol of Levanna, nephews-in-law.
