SFC Retired USA, 64, of 959 Piedmont Drive, Columbus Ga., died Friday, at his home. Funeral services will be conducted 1 p. m. Friday at Faith Tabernacle Community Church with Rev. R. George Plummer Sr., officiating. Interment with full military honors at Main Post Cemetery, according to Progressive Funeral Home Inc. Visitation is Thursday from noon until 6 p. m. at the funeral home. The cortege will depart from the residence Friday at 12:30 p. m. Born in Rankin County, Ms. On October 23, 1939. Mr. Lumbard was the son of the late John Lumbard and Mrs. Dovie Lee Lumbard of Brandon. Ms. Mr. Lumbard resided in Columbus since 1978; he retired from the US Army after 23 years of service. Mr. Lumbard was employed as a salesman with Prim America Life Insurance Company. He was a devoted member of Faith Tabernacle Community Church. Serving as deacon and Deacon Emeritus. He was a Prince Hall Mason, serving as past Worship Master of the Lodge. Mr. Lumbard was also past president of Eastway Elementary School PTA. Surviving other than his loving mother are his devoted wife , Dorthy Lumbard; four daughters Linda A. Ward (Dwayne) of Matthews, Va., Angela Lumbard, Trina Lumbard and Miriam Lumbard of Columbus, Georgia. Three grandchildren, one brother Johnny B. Lumbard of Brandon Ms., one sister, Ruby Hubbard (James) of Jackson, Ms. And a host of in laws, cousins, nieces, nephews and many friends.
