The funeral for Cannie Mae Swanner, 82, of Athens, will be at 2 p.m. today at Spry Funeral Home with Pat Lawrence and Roy McMahan officiating. Burial will be in Athens City Cemetery.
Mrs. Swanner died Sunday, October 1, 2006, at the Athens-Limestone Hospital. She was born January 2, 1924, in Limestone County. She was a member of Berea Baptist Church and a homemaker.
She is survived by two sons, Howard Swanner and Larry Swanner, both of Athens; three grandchildren Ginger Malone, Adam Swanner, Seth Swanner, all of Athens; one great-granddaughter, Lily Malone of Athens; two sisters, Ella Hill and Dean Tucker, both of Athens; one brother, Preston Adams of Indianapolis, Ind., and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Harry Mahlon Swanner.
