This is to certify that the records on file at this office show that Solon H. Dewey, aged 20 years, was enrolled as a Corporal at Mansfield, in Company B, 101st Regt. Pennsylvania Volunteer Infantry, first day of November, 1861 and was mustered into the service of the United States as such at Harrisburg, Pa. for the period of three years from the 12th day of Nov., 1861 and that he died of disease in hospital at Fortress Monroe, Va., Dec. 1862.

Height 5 ft. 9 in., complexion dark, black eyes, brown hair, occupation farmer, residence Sullivan, Pa.
