"Obituaries. Louise O'Conner

Louise White O'Conner [O'Connor], daughter of a pioneer California family, died Saturday [December 25] at the local hospital after a long illness. She was 85 and resided at 61 Homewood Ave., Napa.

Mrs. O'Conner was born in Wooden Valley, Napa County, which was named after her grandfather, John Wooden. Her mother was a member of the historic Donner Party of 1845, but left the group in Utah and avoided the Sierra winter, which proved fatal to many of the pioneers.

Mrs. O'Conner operated the family ranch on Atlas Peak Road for many years.

She was the widow of the late John E. O'Conner and is survived by three sons, Charles H. O'Conner and John L. O'Conner of Napa and two daughters, Elizabeth M. Batto of Napa and Marian L. Jones of Petaluma. Four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren also survive.

Friends are invited to attend funeral services, Wednesday at 2 p.m. at the Treadway and Wigger Funeral Chapel, with the Rev. Arthur Schuck officiating. Interment will follow in Wooden Valley Cemetery." END
