CHARLES BURL "BUCK" POLLET : December 12, 1913-August 23, 2005
-- Posted On: 08-30-2005 Uinta County Herald, Evanston, WY

Buck was born near Luther, Okla. on Dec. 12, 1913, to Charles "Charlie" Loften and Sarah Ellen "Ella" Clark Pollet. He was the baby of the family of eight children, all of whom preceded him in death. Herman Lowell (Hermie), Cecil Clark. Owen Wesley (Whitey), Vivian Irine, Zarah Earl (Jim), Zelma Helen, George Curtis.
Charlie worked hard but it was a struggle to raise a family in those days prior to and during the depression. In 1924, when Buck was only 10, his mother passed away, leaving Charlie to continue on alone with the big family. Some of the older children would look after Buck and helped him attain some education. He led quite a life in the Southland during those years.
Mary "Naomi" Wilson Felix became his wife on March 14,1945, in Ely, Nev. She was a young widow and brought two sons into the family who became very dear to Buck, Wilson J. Felix (Helen Rich) and Jerry D. Felix (Flo) were the beginning of the new family. Buck and Naomi's first son was stillborn and called Pete. Next came Christy Ellen (John Petrich), Jicki Val (Mike Brown), and Charles Burl "Chuck" Jr. (Gloria Vice) completed the crew.
Buck and Naomi were members of the LDS Church and enjoyed traveling to many of the temples. Naomi preceded him in death on May 26, 2004. He yearned to be back with her and finally won his heart's desire on Tuesday, August 23, 2005.
He was a resident of the Powell Valley Care Center for the last two years after breaking his hip. Funeral services will be Monday, August 29, 2005 in the Byron LDS Chapel.
Burial will be in the Byron Cemetery. Haskell Funeral Home in Lovell is in charge of the services. Viewing is at the funeral home during business hours and one hour prior to the services in the Relief Society room at the church.
Also preceding him in death were: daughter-in-law; Gladys Felix and grandson, Jerry B. Tanner. Survivors include the above named children, 16 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
